Happy Birthday Dad Odneal

So we took Mom & Dad O's pontoon out for a ride Saturday and literally the "darned old motor fell off" as Bruce put it! We were pulling into the sandbar at the cove and he was pretending to be the Flinstones and pushing the throttle up and all of a sudden the motor fell off the back of the pontoon. Luckily friends were there to help and they saved the motor and roped it up so we could get towed in. Bruce and Louie of course had it pretty much fixed completely a couple hours after we got back in to the dock. They are awesome. This is a great picture of Mom & Dad enjoying the pontoon ride even though Bruce is being a total dork and not wanting his picture taken. Happy Birthday Dad Odneal. I hope you enjoyed your day with family and friends as much as I enjoyed the weekend with you!

Iowa Blizzard 2009

Here are a few pictures I took at my work the morning after our lovely Iowa blizzard last week. The snow was 27 inches in front of our office door and the snow was unbelievable all around the building. It was so tall it almost completely covered up the gas pumps. Maybe that will be the last big snow storm of the year. Think we could get that lucky?????? We can hope but I think we are doomed since this is Iowa and that was our first of the year! Ty Football 2010

So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!

Congratulations Kyle & Taylor

 Friday night after the game Kyle proposed to Taylor and she said yes!  We have a new engagement in the family and couldn't be happier for them both.  I even got to be in on the secret and play an important role for Kyle.  Since he was coaching he of course couldn't just leave the game, so he enlisted Mom to go to his car unnoticed right before the end and grab the ring case out of the glove box and the long stem rose out of a cooler in the trunk.  I was pretty sneaky apparently because Taylor didn't even notice that I left.  Of course I stayed away from her somewhat on purpose so I wouldn't open my mouth and let something slip to give it away.  Kyle looked over to me right after the game ended and I shook my head "yes" to let him know I didn't let him down.  He grabbed Tyler and Taylor's brother off the field and said "follow me".  Then he just dropped to a knee and proposed.  I didn't have time to recruit a friend to take some pictures
