Happy Monday

I sit here uploading pictures on the computer this Sunday night and I just can't help but think about how blessed I am in my life. We had such a busy and fun weekend that I just told Bruce I am too wired to go to bed yet. Friday we went out to the beach with friends for a couple hours and then ended up with a party of sorts on our boat. Saturday morning we got up very early and headed to Alma, WI to look at a houseboat we are interested in buying (pictures of that to come), and then we took our houseboat out to the beach in the afternoon and spent time with family and friends. Cooked awesome steak and other food in the marina Saturday night and ended up partying on our boat once again. Then today (Sunday) we left around 9:30 on our good friend Steve's pontoon boat and went for breakfast/brunch in Ferryville, WI. When we got back we did some more cleaning/work on our houseboat to get it ready to sell so we can buy the one we looked at on Saturday. Yep, we are very blessed and need to remember and appreciate all of the good things that we do have and not dwell on the disappointments thrown our way. I hope everyone has a great Monday and a fast week. Although I really need to quit wishing time away. It seems to just go so fast anymore. Have a great one and smile. It just might make someone's day that needs it!

Iowa Blizzard 2009

Here are a few pictures I took at my work the morning after our lovely Iowa blizzard last week. The snow was 27 inches in front of our office door and the snow was unbelievable all around the building. It was so tall it almost completely covered up the gas pumps. Maybe that will be the last big snow storm of the year. Think we could get that lucky?????? We can hope but I think we are doomed since this is Iowa and that was our first of the year! Everyone stay warm!

Ty Football 2010

So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!

Congratulations Kyle & Taylor

 Friday night after the game Kyle proposed to Taylor and she said yes!  We have a new engagement in the family and couldn't be happier for them both.  I even got to be in on the secret and play an important role for Kyle.  Since he was coaching he of course couldn't just leave the game, so he enlisted Mom to go to his car unnoticed right before the end and grab the ring case out of the glove box and the long stem rose out of a cooler in the trunk.  I was pretty sneaky apparently because Taylor didn't even notice that I left.  Of course I stayed away from her somewhat on purpose so I wouldn't open my mouth and let something slip to give it away.  Kyle looked over to me right after the game ended and I shook my head "yes" to let him know I didn't let him down.  He grabbed Tyler and Taylor's brother off the field and said "follow me".  Then he just dropped to a knee and proposed.  I didn't have time to recruit a friend to take some pictures
