Hump Day Snow

Yes the calendar says March but once again we are putting up with the snow. These are a few pictures I snapped when getting home from Cole & Ashley's for the night. If you look over Ty's jeep at the light that is snow coming down in huge flakes! I should have taken some later since the deck now has what looks like a couple of inches on it. But if I heard correctly I believe we aren't supposed to get the 6+ inches that were possible so that is a good thing. And look at the bottom right photo. Even Gizmo was hiding from the weather in the bottom shelf of the pantry. Just kidding-she actually went out in the snow when the deck was covered. Everyone have a good Wednesday. I'm hoping the roads are decent in the morning as I have my insurance auditor coming tomorrow morning at work and she has to come from Vinton. Oh yeah and I have to get there for her! And scratch the not getting much snow. I just caught the end of the newscast and I think Schnack just said 2-5 inches in the northern counties. Yep that would be us. Drive safe!

Roads are okay here - I kinda like the ground cover cuz it was soooo ugly before. Need some green

Iowa Blizzard 2009

Here are a few pictures I took at my work the morning after our lovely Iowa blizzard last week. The snow was 27 inches in front of our office door and the snow was unbelievable all around the building. It was so tall it almost completely covered up the gas pumps. Maybe that will be the last big snow storm of the year. Think we could get that lucky?????? We can hope but I think we are doomed since this is Iowa and that was our first of the year! Everyone stay warm!

Ty Football 2010

So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!

Congratulations Kyle & Taylor

 Friday night after the game Kyle proposed to Taylor and she said yes!  We have a new engagement in the family and couldn't be happier for them both.  I even got to be in on the secret and play an important role for Kyle.  Since he was coaching he of course couldn't just leave the game, so he enlisted Mom to go to his car unnoticed right before the end and grab the ring case out of the glove box and the long stem rose out of a cooler in the trunk.  I was pretty sneaky apparently because Taylor didn't even notice that I left.  Of course I stayed away from her somewhat on purpose so I wouldn't open my mouth and let something slip to give it away.  Kyle looked over to me right after the game ended and I shook my head "yes" to let him know I didn't let him down.  He grabbed Tyler and Taylor's brother off the field and said "follow me".  Then he just dropped to a knee and proposed.  I didn't have time to recruit a friend to take some pictures
