Happy 2012 To All

I don't have much to say except that I hope that everyone had very happy holidays and a very Happy New Year! Totally enjoyed my ten days off at home with Bruce. Oh heck and with Ty & Kyle. It was hard to go back to work on Tuesday. But I did get most of the attic cleaned out and burned a ton of 20+ year old bank statements and tax returns. I did decide I still have a problem with keeping boxes. But if anyone needs any size and/or shape I'm pretty sure the one corner of my attic has it! Just let me know. We have our houseboater's brunch this weekend, and once again road tripping to Waukon with Helen & Louie to stay with our friends the Quillin's. I think this will be like my 5th year claiming our same guest bedroom. She has the comfiest bed and flannel sheets for us every year. I will try and get back into posting next week. Busy with year end stuff at work and just getting back into normal life. If this years get together in Waukon goes like usual I will have plenty of pictures to post that will be fun! Everyone have a great 2012!

Iowa Blizzard 2009

Here are a few pictures I took at my work the morning after our lovely Iowa blizzard last week. The snow was 27 inches in front of our office door and the snow was unbelievable all around the building. It was so tall it almost completely covered up the gas pumps. Maybe that will be the last big snow storm of the year. Think we could get that lucky?????? We can hope but I think we are doomed since this is Iowa and that was our first of the year! Ty Football 2010

So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!

Congratulations Kyle & Taylor

 Friday night after the game Kyle proposed to Taylor and she said yes!  We have a new engagement in the family and couldn't be happier for them both.  I even got to be in on the secret and play an important role for Kyle.  Since he was coaching he of course couldn't just leave the game, so he enlisted Mom to go to his car unnoticed right before the end and grab the ring case out of the glove box and the long stem rose out of a cooler in the trunk.  I was pretty sneaky apparently because Taylor didn't even notice that I left.  Of course I stayed away from her somewhat on purpose so I wouldn't open my mouth and let something slip to give it away.  Kyle looked over to me right after the game ended and I shook my head "yes" to let him know I didn't let him down.  He grabbed Tyler and Taylor's brother off the field and said "follow me".  Then he just dropped to a knee and proposed.  I didn't have time to recruit a friend to take some pictures
