Friday Foto


I have been a bit of a slacker on the blog updates this week. Sorry. No excuse really. Just haven't taken the time I guess. For today's photo though we have Ray and his "8 Pound" fish that he caught last Sunday at the river. Is that right on the weight Ray, or is it 18 or maybe 38 pounds? Just kidding! So, here is Ray with his blogworthy fish. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am looking forward to getting some stuff done around the house, spending some time with Kyle (hopefully), and yes, even doing some dreaded shopping. Yep, makes me a little ill just thinking of the crowds and stores! A girl has to have some winter clothes, and ample Bath & Body products though you know! I can bet anyone that it will be the fastest shopping trip on record if I have my way! And what a great fish Ray! I kind of got away from the picture that I was posting didn't I? So sorry. Iowa Blizzard 2009

Here are a few pictures I took at my work the morning after our lovely Iowa blizzard last week. The snow was 27 inches in front of our office door and the snow was unbelievable all around the building. It was so tall it almost completely covered up the gas pumps. Maybe that will be the last big snow storm of the year. Think we could get that lucky?????? We can hope but I think we are doomed since this is Iowa and that was our first of the year! Everyone stay warm!

Ty Football 2010

So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!

Congratulations Kyle & Taylor

 Friday night after the game Kyle proposed to Taylor and she said yes!  We have a new engagement in the family and couldn't be happier for them both.  I even got to be in on the secret and play an important role for Kyle.  Since he was coaching he of course couldn't just leave the game, so he enlisted Mom to go to his car unnoticed right before the end and grab the ring case out of the glove box and the long stem rose out of a cooler in the trunk.  I was pretty sneaky apparently because Taylor didn't even notice that I left.  Of course I stayed away from her somewhat on purpose so I wouldn't open my mouth and let something slip to give it away.  Kyle looked over to me right after the game ended and I shook my head "yes" to let him know I didn't let him down.  He grabbed Tyler and Taylor's brother off the field and said "follow me".  Then he just dropped to a knee and proposed.  I didn't have time to recruit a friend to take some pictures
