Family Get Together

So my picture taking Bro Dave was supposed to email me the picture of the whole group/family and I never received it, so I am posting some pictures that I took. On the long Thanksgiving weekend, Sunday, November 30th, we all got together at the OP in Evansdale to celebrate Aunt Kathy & Uncle Gary's 40th anniversary. They were shocked and had no idea they were doing anything except going to lunch with the kids. They were very happily surprised I think. It was nice seeing everyone and of course the "claw" machine was the big attraction. Especially to the "boys"-right Rick & Bruce?? Wonder just how much you two stuck in that thing. They did give away most of the stuffed animals to some girls sitting in a booth. I can't imagine why noone wanted to take them all home. Anyways it was a nice get together and nice to see everyone. We don't do that enough, especially my Mom's side of the family. Awesome food, too if I might add!

Iowa Blizzard 2009

Here are a few pictures I took at my work the morning after our lovely Iowa blizzard last week. The snow was 27 inches in front of our office door and the snow was unbelievable all around the building. It was so tall it almost completely covered up the gas pumps. Maybe that will be the last big snow storm of the year. Think we could get that lucky?????? We can hope but I think we are doomed since this is Iowa and that was our first of the year! Ty Football 2010

So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!

Congratulations Kyle & Taylor

 Friday night after the game Kyle proposed to Taylor and she said yes!  We have a new engagement in the family and couldn't be happier for them both.  I even got to be in on the secret and play an important role for Kyle.  Since he was coaching he of course couldn't just leave the game, so he enlisted Mom to go to his car unnoticed right before the end and grab the ring case out of the glove box and the long stem rose out of a cooler in the trunk.  I was pretty sneaky apparently because Taylor didn't even notice that I left.  Of course I stayed away from her somewhat on purpose so I wouldn't open my mouth and let something slip to give it away.  Kyle looked over to me right after the game ended and I shook my head "yes" to let him know I didn't let him down.  He grabbed Tyler and Taylor's brother off the field and said "follow me".  Then he just dropped to a knee and proposed.  I didn't have time to recruit a friend to take some pictures
