Bruce's Friendship Bread

Yes the title of this is correct. Last week "baker Bruce" (no not really ever before!) was given some friendship bread at work to take home since he had tried some of it and loved it. So he brought it home and asked me if I wanted it. I told him absolutely not-I was not going to deal with it. So he decided he'd do the bread. And last night after we got home it was ready to bake.
It smelled wonderful while it was baking. The boys even came downstairs to see if it was done that is how good it smelled! They actually left their PS3 to check on it!

Oh, and it tasted absolutely wonderful. I have to admit he did a great job for the first time EVER I think that I have seen him bake something. Oh, and he took the four bags from splitting it to work to pass around to whoever wanted them. And we didn't keep one for ourselves so maybe he really didn't enjoy doing it! Or maybe it was just all the harrassment he got from all of us for actually spending time in the kitchen BAKING!

Here are a few pictures I took at my work the morning after our lovely Iowa blizzard last week. The snow was 27 inches in front of our office door and the snow was unbelievable all around the building. It was so tall it almost completely covered up the gas pumps. Maybe that will be the last big snow storm of the year. Think we could get that lucky?????? We can hope but I think we are doomed since this is Iowa and that was our first of the year! Ty Football 2010

So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!

Congratulations Kyle & Taylor

 Friday night after the game Kyle proposed to Taylor and she said yes!  We have a new engagement in the family and couldn't be happier for them both.  I even got to be in on the secret and play an important role for Kyle.  Since he was coaching he of course couldn't just leave the game, so he enlisted Mom to go to his car unnoticed right before the end and grab the ring case out of the glove box and the long stem rose out of a cooler in the trunk.  I was pretty sneaky apparently because Taylor didn't even notice that I left.  Of course I stayed away from her somewhat on purpose so I wouldn't open my mouth and let something slip to give it away.  Kyle looked over to me right after the game ended and I shook my head "yes" to let him know I didn't let him down.  He grabbed Tyler and Taylor's brother off the field and said "follow me".  Then he just dropped to a knee and proposed.  I didn't have time to recruit a friend to take some pictures
