Woke up this morning to flurries. The deck was covered, but it has been drizzling more rain than snow throughout the morning. I think we are in for a yucky weather weekend. I guess it is Iowa and November 7th!
So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!
So over one of the holiday long weekend breaks I saw this Mighty Mend-It on TV and picked up the phone to order. Bruce came downstairs while I was on the line and was totally making fun of me and not believing that I was ordering that "crap" off of the TV. Well, it came the other day and guess what? He had a hole in his stocking cap he wears outside at work and asked me if it would work on the hat. I think he was actually challenging me and hoping it was a total flop so he could give me some more crap for "wasting my money". So, I fixed the hat, and then I had a picture frame that was messed up so that I had to have Cole & Ashley on their side. Well, guess what? It worked on the frame too and they are now sitting upright like they should be. And then guess what? Last night Bruce asked me to fix a hole on the inside of his hat, and the leather on the thumb of his glove. Ha! I think he realized this stuff is awesome. How dare him make fun of me for purchasing this...
Well seriously I know that he's had 19 "birthday dinners" but let's face it that the first years were definitely not memorable to him or me. So I made Kyle's belated birthday supper and cheesecake tonight since we got home later last night from the river. I always make a cheesecake for all 3 of our boys as that is what they request. And tonight we grilled bacon wrapped sirloins and they were awesome. Bruce was worried they were overcooked waiting for the garlic bread, but they were actually PERFECT! Kyle nor any of us were hungry for the cheesecake after supper though, so I guess we will actually have some tomorrow. Kyle and I are going to get the rest of his list of stuff he needs for his house tomorrow after I take Ty for his sports physical in the afternoon. I can't believe Kyle is moving out again next weekend, but this time I will just be able to let him use the truck to move his stuff out of my living room and can visit him next week to check out ...
