Happy Mother's Day

 Just a few photos from the weekend.  Had a fun time with friends on the sandbar on Saturday and then made a nice brunch for Mom In Law Joey and friends on Sunday.  We took a long pontoon boat ride with Mom & Dad O. and stopped on the sandbar to chat with more friends.  All in all it was a pretty good weekend.  The best part of it was stopping to see Ava tonight after we got home.  She made my day.  And the pictures of the trees is an eagle nest along the river.  It didn't seem as big as most but was awesome to see.  And the griddle Kyle got me for my birthday worked great on the grill.  I think Bruce has found a new way to cook breakfast at the houseboat.  Everyone have a great week and and I hope all you Moms out there had a fun day spent with family and/or friends like I did.  It truly is what is important in life.  And we all know that is way too short!  I miss my Mom everyday but am so glad that I have a Mother In Law that I love like she was my own.  Enjoyed spending the day with you Joey.  Hope you had fun too!  Everyone have a good week!

Here are a few pictures I took at my work the morning after our lovely Iowa blizzard last week. The snow was 27 inches in front of our office door and the snow was unbelievable all around the building. It was so tall it almost completely covered up the gas pumps. Maybe that will be the last big snow storm of the year. Think we could get that lucky?????? We can hope but I think we are doomed since this is Iowa and that was our first of the year! Ty Football 2010

So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!

Congratulations Kyle & Taylor

 Friday night after the game Kyle proposed to Taylor and she said yes!  We have a new engagement in the family and couldn't be happier for them both.  I even got to be in on the secret and play an important role for Kyle.  Since he was coaching he of course couldn't just leave the game, so he enlisted Mom to go to his car unnoticed right before the end and grab the ring case out of the glove box and the long stem rose out of a cooler in the trunk.  I was pretty sneaky apparently because Taylor didn't even notice that I left.  Of course I stayed away from her somewhat on purpose so I wouldn't open my mouth and let something slip to give it away.  Kyle looked over to me right after the game ended and I shook my head "yes" to let him know I didn't let him down.  He grabbed Tyler and Taylor's brother off the field and said "follow me".  Then he just dropped to a knee and proposed.  I didn't have time to recruit a friend to take some pictures
