Do not try this at home or unsupervised! Some shots from this weekend of Helen and I driving our houseboat. We took a nice ride Saturday night and had supper and a fire on the beach. It was a good time.
So finally remembered to take the camera to Ty's game Friday night and snap some pictures. We won 45-0 and Ty had 3 TD's but one was called back. I don't know what his class will think when/if they ever lose. They haven't lost a game since grade school. Wouldn't that be awesome if they never did lose one? I think our varsity team will be a force to be reckoned with when they are juniors and seniors. Not saying that the varsity team currently isn't. They haven't lost this year either. Love football season but sad to see summer almost over! Go Wapsie Valley Warriors!
My laundry room used to be an old porch off of my kitchen. Last night I threw a load of laundry in like usual and didn't think twice about it. Later when I went to switch out loads, I opened the lid and it was still full of freezing cold water and had not agitated or cycled. So I messed with the dial, and then went to the basement and found a circuit tripped. I thought I had solved the problem. But, no, it just kept trying to agitate and would kick off. Well, after much swearing, turning the drum, thinking, swearing some more, etc., we both realized that this had happened one other time when it was dangerously cold outdoors. So he took off the front cover and sure enough, the hoses were full of ice and that is why the machine coul...
Today is my sister in law Helen's birthday. I love this gal. We have been friends for a very long time, and we truly have a blast with each other. Thank goodness we can spend a lot of time together because we spend literally EVERY weekend together April through October at the river on our houseboats. We do crazy stuff, we cook awesome food, and we just hang out and talk. And in the off months or when we don't see each other, my car just seems to turn down her road when I am heading home from shopping. Even when Bruce has just waxed it and done the wheels. Right Helen? Oh well he washed it again quick when I got home. He knew I had to have my fix of "Hellie"! I love you Helen Hildegard like a sister and I know that we are having an awesome day moving and winterizing our boats for the season on your birthday! May we have many more river summers to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries with our friends and family. Oh, and this winter when you are having th...
